This album is a culmination of a year’s worth of work. As with any album this was not a solo endeavor. I have many people to thank and instead of discussing my inspiration for this album I would like to use this space to thank everyone who helped make this EP a reality. First I would like to thank my family. Thank you to my mother, Erica, who has imbued in me a drive to always do better and whose decision to go back to work while raising two children has always been an inspiration. Thank you to my father, Ken, who is the reason I started playing music and has been my musical inspiration since day one. Thank you to Alex for being the coolest big sister ever and my first teacher. Thank you to Ellen who show me how to find the wonderful stories both in music and in everyday life. Thank you to Sophia for making this year an unforgettable one. Thank you to my composition teacher Karl von Klein who gave me the time and opportunity to create this work and a special thanks to Dr. Michael Davison who worked with me to realize the full extent of my compositions. Thank you to my bandmates Noah Campbell, Dexter Moses, Kofi Shepsu, Josh Tucker, and Adam Wolf who helped take my ideas which many times were confusing and make them into complete works of music. Thank you to Evan Heiter, Lori Horning, and Ben Campbell for your ideas and advice. Thank you to Sarah Law who created a beautiful piece of art for me to use as an album cover and Morgan Guerin who mixed this album while in the midst of recording and releasing his own magnificent work: The Saga. Finally thank you to my musical inspirations: Miles Davis, Thana Alexa, Eric Dolphy, Roy Hargrove, Bruce Springsteen, and Hiromi for teaching me what great music sounds like.
